Acne Free is low-cost, widely available, pimple-fighting system touted as a major breakthrough in acne treatment. It uses the age-old zit-buster benzoyl peroxide as its active ingredient. But what’s new is that it is set in a time-released formula for all day delivery.

Acne Free is made up of an exfoliating cleanser, a toner and a treatment lotion, that work together to clear the skin. A stronger formulation, called Acne Free Severe, pumps up the does of benzoyl peroxide and adds a fourth product, retinol, to the mix. You may see results of Acne Free in 3 days, but up to two weeks is not unusual.

Benzoyl peroxide is known to cause dryness and mild skin irritation. But these tend to subside in a week or so as your skin gets used to the product.
