From scratch

If you intend to start with nothing, that’s alright. It takes only a few minutes to create this fantastic gift. First thing to do is to trace the sole onto the paper. Then trace a sock shape that has a flat bottom on another paper. Make the length of the bottom part of the sock the same as that of the sole. Cut your fabric based on the patterns you made, two for the sole and four for the sock part. Cut two more soles using your sole pattern. This time, choose a non-slip kind of fabric or a thin rubber.

Right after the cutting is the sewing part. Sew together the non-slip fabric and the sole fabric combining the wrong sides or so they are inside out. Make ½ inch seams. Sew also the top of the part of the sock using ¼ inch seams. Make sure that you are sewing on the wrong sides. Next, sew the sock part to the sole part with ¼ inch seams. Always check the sides you are sewing. Lastly, sew the back part of the sock starting at the heel keeping with ¼ inch seams. You have the option to hem the opening of the sock.

The problem with owning antique dinnerware sets is that whenever you get a chip or a break in your set, it would be very hard to find a replacement for them. While there are many companies offering replacement or restoration for the patterns, they are too costly and expensive. This is why you have to be very careful in handling in your antique china. In our household, I seldom take out my antiques due to some very bad previous experience. Now my antiques seldom leave the china cabinet that houses them. Every now and then, I take them out for cleaning but I am very careful in handling them, making sure that I wipe them with a clean towel, and replacing them in their china holders in the curio cabinet. I don’t even allow my children to run around anywhere my china cabinet is in fear that they might cause a commotion and incidentally break them. Imagine all that precious china breaking into a million pieces That would be just horrible

A few years ago I purchased a quite expensive dinnerware set with special Johnson Brothers china patterns and I was so happy with the said dinner set. However, one unfortunate day, while cleaning them, I accidentally bumped the plate to the edge of my kitchen table. Imagine the physical pain that I had to go through when I heard and crack and chip This was a piece that I have been wanting to own and it just made me so sad cause now a piece is broken and my dinner set is incomplete.
