Do Blogspot URL Addresses Hurt You?
As we all know in the internet marketing business, Google is constantly revamping its search algorithm to weed out those unruly folks (like yourselves) who are trying to game the system to make a little money. Lately, Google has been making what appear to some people to be some widespread changes that have greatly affected some people.
Those widespread changes, for the most part, include wiping out hundreds and hundreds of Blogger blogs. For the most part, the blogs that are being wiped out probably should be – they are those mini-sites we all kind of have but never talk about, that are geared up to reach that one random keywords with the huge adsense clicks. In the past few months people have begun to see entire blog networks wiped out with one flail swoop.
Now, I don’t profess to be an expert in this area. I’m just a DUI attorney who fell into this stuff by accident (I was bored) and then really started using it to promote my law firm business online, to great success, I might add. So, take what I say here with a grain of salt. But my experience is only those blogs that are truly terrible are getting kicked.
For example, I have about 30 blogs or so set up on various topics, ranging from DUI lawyers to politics to golf courses, and I haven’t had any of my blogs blackballed by Google. I think there are two reasons for this. First, when I write, no matter what the site, I make sure the content is good. Second, I don’t have a lot of adsense sights out there.
Many people are preaching that if you have a blogger blog it should be eliminated and you should take up shop with wordpress. I don’t know if that is necessarily a must do. I like Blogger blogs because you can still get a lot of the keyword URLs you want. What I would do is just make sure the sites were legit. If they are, you have nothing to worry about. It means a little extra time, but Google is probably going to like them more anyway.
