French house

I’ve lived in the South of France now for two and a half years, but up til now I’ve always been renting my accommodation. I didn’t want to commit to buying a property until I was absolutely sure this was the country I wanted to live in. Well now that I’ve made up my mind I’ve started the process of house hunting here in the Languedoc where I currently live.

It’s been an eye opening experinece because no two properties seem to be the same and the rural French have a very different take on interior decor than in, say the US or UK. All of this has meant that I’ve had to look at well over 50 properties, almost every house for sale in the area, compared to 15 to 20 properties as would be the norm back in my home city of London.
