Have you ever wondered why more people turn to electric radiators these days rather than install older fashioned steam or hot water units? After all, the latter two have more of a traditional feel to them. The vintage look and aesthetic that an ornate hot water radiator brings is undeniable, especially if you find one crafted in the Italianate style. Yet electric radiators have one thing that other kinds of cast iron radiator lack entirely – a dearth of installation costs. Installing a hot water or steam radiator requires extensive plumbing work done. This can get really expensive really fast. An electric radiator, on the other hand, only needs to be plugged in for it to work perfectly. Many larger units need to be mounted to the wall as well, but this takes little more effort than putting up a new picture frame. If installation costs have you worried, electric radiators are definitely your friend.
