Japan Holidays for Next Year
If you are currently wondering where to holiday next year, and if you hanker for something a bit different, then a Japanese holiday may very well be what you are looking for.
Japan combines and ancient and fascinating cultural heritage with a modern gadget fueled and frenetic twenty first century lifestyle.
Japan is an extremely crowded country (it is roughly the size of the UK but with double the population) and can appear daunting to the first time visitor. Although the friendliness and polite manners of its inhabitants more than makes up for this.
There’s a lot on offer to the visitor. Tokyo, the capital, is one of the world’s truly great cities and have everything on offer that you could find in London, Paris or New York. The ancient city of Kyoto provides an interesting contrast and is an excellent day trip. Besides this, the massive bulk of Mount Fujiyama provides mountaineers with an excellent challenge.
Football (or soccer) came late to Japan, but has since established itself firmly as one of the nation’s premier sports. Indeed the 2002 World Cup (which was held jointly with South Korea) certainly did a lot to increase the sport’s popularity. So much so in fact that Japan is again bidding for the World Cup in the years 2018 and 2022.
In fiction, James Bond also visited these shore in the 1967 Bond movie ‘You Only Live Twice.’ Japan’s culture by ways of martial arts and wedding ceremonies were well represented in the film and the mountainous regions were also featured as part of the storyline.
Dining out in Japan is a truly wonderful experience. The sushi here is, as you would expect, fist class and the sake wine is not to be missed. make sure its is served at the correct temperature however.
All in all, Japan is a truly interesting and exciting place to spend next year’s holidays. Visit the Smashing Holidays website for more details on Japan holidays.
