You can enjoy playing with kids during the summer. Making long lasting memories can strengthen the family ties which is very important these days. You can make keepsake paving stones with your kids. These can be enjoyable for the kids and can make them proud in the future when they see the keepsakes on the chimney and when they show them to their own kids.

Here are some steps to help you achieve that and have fun with your kids:

  • Buy all the things that you need to do the project. Don’t forget anything. They include concrete mix, stir stick paving stones, and pencils. The concrete mold should be in the shape that you desire. You can get this from your local hardware.
  • Mix some of the concrete depending on the number of kids that you are working with. Follow the steps indicated on the concretes bag. Always use a container that you do not want to use any more because the concrete sticks permanently.
  • Prepare the molds that you want to use on your keepsakes paving stones. Make sure it is flat and hard.
  • Place the mold in a place where you will not need to move it. After you add the concrete, it becomes impossible to move it.
  • Add the concrete mix on your mold and flatten the surface. Use a hard object to spread the concrete.
  • Ask the kids to place their palms on the wet concrete. Press the palm to make sure that you get the desired results. A foot is also good for the keepsakes.
  • Make sure that the imprint is perfect and avoid making unnecessary marks. Your kids may spoil the keepsakes if you are not careful.
  • Using the pencil or something sharp. Write the kids names or initials and also the date. This creates a perfect childhood memory for your kids.
