If you are a hockey player or a hockey fan you should take care of your hockey jerseys and make sure that you never wear a tattered jersey. The hockey jersey is a sacred icon and symbol of the great sport of hockey and all of the history that holds within it. The Stanley Cup is the oldest trophy in American sports history and it deserves all of the respect, no matter how minute and detailed it may first appear, that wearing pristine hockey jerseys provides.

If you have a tattered old collection of hockey jerseys in your basement that are full of holes and tears, you’re going to look like a bum.

Take care of your hockey jerseys so that they will take care of you out on the ice. The better your jersey looks the more serious players will take you out there and the less likely you will be picked on and made fun of. There’s even a children’s book based on it called the Hockey Sweater.
