If you enjoy a camping holiday with your family, then you have probably given a motorhome a try at some time. If you have, you will know what a wonderful feeling it is to have the freedom to travel wherever you like, and not have to worry about finding accommodation at the end of the day. The downside to travelling in a motorhome is that you do spend a lot of time in it, and there are times when you just need to get outside and relax for a while. This is where the motorhome awning comes into play.

Any decent motorhome that you hire will have a good awning out the side of it, and you will find yourself utilising this space every day for eating dinner, reading a book in the shade, and playing board games with the kids. A motorhome holiday just isn’t the same if you haven’t bought and awning along with you.

If you don’t look after it, it could let you down and start leaking in bad weather, and you do not want this to happen.

Almost all motorhome awnings have sliding arms, so check these frequently, and apply some grease to them to keep the mechanism free of contamination and dirt. This will ensure a smooth surface and no problems. Look for any small tears and rips, and repair them before they get too big, this will keep you dry in the rain.
