The best of the best (catering to all needs but somewhat pricey): Arlberg (Tyrol/Vorarlberg); Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis (Tyrol), Ischgl (Tyrol), Sölden (Tyrol); Zillertal (Tyrol); Kitzbühel (Tyrol)

Large “mainstream” resorts with lots of groomed pistes and lifts: Montafon (Vorarlberg); SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser (Tyrol); Gastein (Salzburg); Amadé (Salzburg), Saalbach-Hinterglemm (Salzburg); Schladming (Styria); Europa-Sportregion (Salzburg)

Off the beaten path: Bregenzerwald (Vorarlberg); Grossglockner resort Kals/Matrei (Tyrol); Hochkönig (Salzburg); Salzkammergut (Salzburg, Styria, Upper Austria); Heiligenblut (Carinthia), Hochkar (Lower Austria).
