Even though the recovery experience from liposculpture surgery is not as intense as say, open heart surgery, a patient certainly must take it easy and give themselves proper time to relax and recovery. To this end, take note of the following suggestions to make recovery smoother and just all around easier on you if you’re going to have liposculpture.

1. Take some time off from work. Yes, some procedures are rather quick and you can feasibly even go in on your lunch break and go back to work in a few hours, but why put yourself through this? Take a few days off from work, sit on the couch, rent some movies, and relax. This is not a contest.

2. Have a friend or family member with you the first 24 hours. You will appreciate having someone do really simple things for you, such as get you water, cook, feed you, and wash your dishes. Staying off your feet is a good idea, and it’s all those “little things” that will put you ON your feet when you should be relaxing.

3. Skip the workout. This probably goes without saying, but many patients who get liposculpture are very much into exercise and strength training. However, you need to skip this during the recovery period – especially the first week.

All in all, thids advice amounts to taking it slow, not over reaching, and letting others spoil you a little bit the first 24-48 hours. Allowing yourself time to recover properly means a faster recovery in the long run, which means you will be back on your feet doing whatever you aim to do sooner rather than later.
